NEC is adding to the Bigger is Better theory with the introduction of its new 52” table-tablet (or whatever you care to describe it as). The new device is called the X-Info table and has many of the standard features found in up-scaled PC’s. The table will be shipping in February 2012. Maybe NEC should just call it the pool table. :D

Seems kind to defeat the purpose of a tablet... they could have 3 computers in that thing.

They had something like that at the mall of America last week... was not impressed with it.:(

Hey look, it's a ginormous Microsoft Surface. You know that giant tablet that came out years before the iPad that everyone forgot about?

Not exactly. Microsoft Surface can also recognize objects placed onto the screen and correctly interpret broader hand movements.

I'm wondering what kind of touch sensor that screen has. We use lots of 24", 40" and 52" touchscreens and some of the smaller and all the larger ones use visual/IR type sensors instead of a capacitive layer across the whole screen. The difference is that you don't have to physically touch the screen for it to register - you can just point at something like you would with a paper presentation chart. However in a table configuration I don't think this would translate very well, since you can't hover your hand over it without accidentially triggering it.
