Sometimes it’s not always a bad thing to be the last one to the shindig, and Microsoft just showed up at the door all dressed up and ready to dance. Today Microsoft announced it was integrating Hardoop into future versions of several of Microsoft's platforms, furthering the company’s acceptance of open source software.
“This is a real validation of Hadoop and it’s readiness for primetime,” Baldeschwieler told Wired. “It brings Hadoop to such a large audience, and Microsoft is doing it in an open source way, which is great for everyone involved.”
