Wow. $400 for a 5970. This is the same one that has been on sale for a month or so now, and still only has the 30 day warranty. If it werent for that I would have ordered this card even at the $500 price, I think.

What is wrong with the 5970s that they have only 30-day warranties?

Good price, but yikes!

I'd rather spend a few more bucks and get something with at least 3 years, preferably lifetime warr.

ive never had a video card die on me and im old school and have had at least 30+ video cards. now i have had a few that were DOA

I'm more sensitive about video cards b/c mine died on me about 5 years after I purchased it. Luckily, it had a lifetime warranty and I got a free upgrade from a 6800 GT to an 880 GT, although it took a few attempts due to the vendor's missteps, which they finally rectified the 3rd time. (The saying "third time's the charm" rang true for me.) I even made a thread about it on [H] documenting my experience.
