Remember the people that were fired for posting complaints about their job on Facebook? Well, the National Labor Relations Board has ordered the employees back to work. That's not going to be uncomfortable at all.

Last week, administrative law Judge Arthur Amchan ruled on the case between the five employees and their former employer, Hispanics United of Buffalo. According to the information included in the judge's decision, the five employees last year took to Facebook to discuss their issues with other employees, as well as how much work they take on. Soon after, the five employees were terminated for the comments made on the social network.

In other news, returning employees are suspiciously fired within days due to 'excessive coffee drinking' violations. These employees are back to work but will be let pretty soon imo.

It's good there back to work. So you fools won't have to help pay there unemployment benefits. There employers should've fired them. This facebook crap needs to stop.

perhaps you should read the article before sticking your foot in your mouth?

the Employees were fired for discussing the poor working conditions at their place of employment. which happens to be protected behavior according to the National relations labor board.

now, if they were saying that the boss was an ass and they were going to set his genitals on fire or something, yeah, that is actionable behavior....

One can only hope that the companies will appeal and get their way.

If you have a valid complaint about working conditions then there are a lot of appropriate entities that will deal with it in a legitimate way (i.e. the EOE folks, OSHA, etc. etc.). Badmouthing your employer on the public Internet should get you fired, and rightly so.

I didn't bother to read the article, but from the quote that was posted, I'm thinking it was an invite only group. Not exactly "public".

Bollucks. According to law, the employer was in the wrong.
