ICM Registry has taken a pre-emptive step to protect celebrities from the embarrassment of finding their name plastered all over an XXX website. An undetermined number of celebs have had their names removed from available lists for the new .xxx domain and placed on a reserved list

This means that cybersquatters or crafty porn webmasters will not be able to register domains such as Beyonce.xxx or BritneySpears.xxx to drive traffic to their sites.

The whole .xxx game is just a fiasco and a money grab on the part of the ICAAN. Anyone who is serious in the adult biz should avoid it all together although there are a lot of defensive registrations going on. This new TLD makes it a snap for people to block adult content sites all together as well which I do not like.

Makes me SOOOOO fucking happy to our celebrities protected from little things like this at great length!

Who decides who gets to be on the "reserved" list? I mean how famous does one need to be to get this kind of service?

So I suppose that since my ex isn't famous I can register an XXX domain using her name for no other reason than to embarrass her? Yeah this is going to work real well!

this is a joke. are they going to do the same thing with misspelled names?
