I'm not sure what took them so long but this is definitely a good idea.

Drunken revelers rejoice: Facebook will now let you decide whether your friends can attach your name to a photo before it is circulated. Currently, your friends can add your name to a photo on Facebook without your consent or knowledge. You can remove it later, but only after lots of others may have seen the embarrassing shots. Now, you can insist on pre-approval.

They only did it because it's being used to spam people. I have several people who get tagged as a pair of shoes of purses daily to get sales into feeds.
 
I, personally, am sick of peripheral Facebook news.

Who cares what feature Facebook added/took away?

I'd rather hear someone reciting the penal code.

Then instead of clicking the link to open said thread, why not just ignore it and move on?

About time FB do this. While nobody has tagged me in BS photos I've seen others tagged in them.
