China was the victim of a 500,000 cyber attacks last year? Riiiight. And exactly why would anyone hack a Chinese computer? :D

Nearly 500,000 cyberattacks were aimed at computers in China last year and almost half originated overseas, the government said Tuesday, following recent suggestions Beijing might be behind long-term security attacks internationally.

Of course, they don't mention how many attacks they've launched....

actually knowing china, this is completely made up like the rest of their stuff that gets leaked.

How much you wanna bet they consider a "Cyberattack" anything that isn't routed to a party controlled system?

I wonder if China thinks that reverse lookups or trace routes count as cyber attackes?

Of course, they don't mention how many attacks they've launched....
I think all companies that have tech the Chinese want should deliberately allow them to steal it, not to easy mind you, but with minor changes that would cost them dearly once the product is built. Forget it I just remembered we buy most of their products and they already self destruct after a certain period of time. I thought I had something here.:)

Judging by the number of dictionary attacks I see from APNIC addresses, most of the original attacks were successful.

Everyone talks about the hacks that occur here in the US but let's not forget that the security in China is much much worse. The #1 browser in China is still IE6, so that should give you an idea just how bad things are there.

The reason you don't hear more about the Chinese getting hacked is because there isn't much there worth hacking.

Translation: China says they suffered over 500k worth of searches for Porn, or Democracy or, Possibly the end of the universe.

The claimed 500,000 just so they won't feel so guilty for the 1,000,000 they launched.

we have to steal our secrets back somehow! :D
