A recent study found that almost eighty percent of ALL college students have received suggestive messages. And by "all" college students they mean "204 kids in some Rhode Island school."

More than half of all college students have received sexually suggestive images via text messaging, and nearly 80 percent have received suggestive messages, according to research by University of Rhode Island faculty in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.

Lucky them!

I never got anything like that when I was a teen in the 80's.

Sigh.

I got sexted when I first got my phone. It was a dude.

I wonder what they mean by "sexual suggestive". Are they talking about just flirting or are you talking about when a girl sends you nudies?

If you exclude certain types of people yeah its pretty much 100%, something has to get us through he work day.

This just in, College students are adults and have sexual thoughts!

Stop the presses a Scandal is Afoot!

I sexted. But lets be clear, that is NOT something to be proud of.

Sexting ranks lower than a handjob, lower than a lapdance, lower than 2nd base, and even lower than good old fashion phone sex. Sexting is the epitome of pathetic impersonal sexual expression.

Acceptable sexting only involves the details required to ensure that your penis gets to the right place at the right time for appropriate penetration.

Why is this top news? College students received profane messages via the number one means of communication throughout their generation that breathes anonymity. WOAHHHH. You old people are hilarious.

-_-

Just a waste of media time and a distraction.

Got any real news lately? I guess that many Americans will be caught by suprise, if the real news reached them.

1.
Saudi Arabia is ready to cripple Iran's oil exports and strike Syria's energy resources. Berlusconi hopes to beat Obama to an deal for Libyan oil by secretly switching his support from the rebels to Muammar Qaddafi.

2.
Turkey considers giving Bashar Assad a last chance before resorting to military action after receiving the promise of a US shield against Iranian or Syrian missile retaliation. Assad, for his part, is rigidly fixated on his harsh crackdown and a victory over the rebels against his regime.

What else are you to do with your smart phone? Also don't send out unsolicited dick pics, guys. Girls don't like that unless they are your girlfriend, in which case they pretend to like it. Girl parts only.

80% of people experience elements of sexuality in some of their conversations. text messaging is a medium for conversations.

it doesn't need a special name, and it's not surprising in. any. way.

Lol... I mean Luiz, I thought im sure it was far more than half i only know one person who hasn't, Its fairly regular now and gives people with low self esteem the abillity to do it too, not speaking for my self I mean I fucking rock but other people... :p

College kids? I wonder if any middle age or geriatric kids sext.

I think by college we can start calling them adults-- even though people probably don't start acting like such until they're 35 these days, if ever. :D

Seriously, who gives a wet fart about college sexting?

This is an article at Science Daily. CNN is that way -->

It looks like the purpose of this article is not to be sensational but to bring attention to the real problems sexting laws might cause for college students. An 18 year-old student possessing a picture of a 17 year-old student (they exist; I was one) could apparently face child pornography charges in states with stupid laws that don't include a hysteresis for this sort of thing.

The article uses the term "students" but notes that some freshmen are legally minors, which is the primary cause for concern here (see above).
