HI Folks,

I currently have a Sapphire 5870 running in my computer. I am looking to ad another 5870 for crossfire. Is it possible to use a diff brand then Sapphire to do crossfire? I just want another card for crossfire to increase my framerates.

Thx,

Anthony

Crossfire:
read this:http://game.amd.com/us-en/crossfirex_about.aspx

short story, Crossfire is compatable across brands. Most commonly it is utilized between like cards, such as two 5870s or two 5850s or even two 4870 X2s (as examples)
However, you can even Crossfire two unlike cards......look in the chart.......this is possible in the 5800 series to my knowlege, I had a 4870 and a 4870 X2 Crossfired for a short while.
Of course, you need a mainboard that supports Crossfire and a stout PSU.

Nvidia also has the same circumstances as far as different brand vendors, but as of right now, you can only SLi similar series cards, like two GTX 285s or two GTX 260s, but the vendor is irrevelant.

Of course an entirely different card may be used as a "physx" card, not related to the SLi......in nvidia's case.
