Corsair TX950W 950 Watt Power Supply Review @ [H]

Corsair TX950W 950 Watt Power Supply Review - Corsair's cannons are blazing with its 950 watt TX series PSU that claims to sustain a full 950 watt load at 50°C and up 85% energy efficiency under "real-world" load conditions. We put the TX through our normal gamut of higher-than-industry standard tests and tell you if our TX sinks to the bottom or stays proudly afloat.

Quote:
The Corsair TX950W represents a re-launching of Corsair's price-performance line of power supplies and it is the second largest capacity unit currently being shipped by Corsair (following the HX1000W). Previously, we saw the HX850W utilize the same platform as this unit to great effect and as such we expected great things from this unit. Largely, this turned out to be the case. The TX950W had the same excellent voltage regulation, efficiency, and similar noise profile as the high end HX850W all while being 100W greater in capacity.

Nice to know I can still blindly recommend a Corsair power supply regardless of series or wattage instead of being complete hit or miss from other brands.

Both of my gaming rigs have Corsair PSU's. Biggest is the TX850W. Zero problems with either of them. I put these first on my list of PSU's to suggest to friends building new boxes. Nice to see the tradition of excellence continue!

Modular

my first corsair PSU was non-modular, but my love for Corsair's PSU's makes me wanna buy a modular one for my second rig. great product.

The price is the real killer for this one. $160 for a PSU that's just shy of 1kW and with this kind of performance is hard to beat.

Bought my first Corsair PSU 2 years ago not too long after they came out. VX550 and it's still going strong to this day. Absolutely love it and great to read from this review that they're still making quality products. I'll continue to recommend and use them in new builds!

Don't worry, your Toughpower is more than up to handling your components.

Nice review. I'm a Thermaltake PSU guy myself, but I'll consider a Corsair like this on my next build.

Please do.

They've got units for the HTPC/grandma build (400w) all the way to these badass high end units.

Never an issue with Corsair.
