exactly so the appeal really is that it's unreleased hardware and offers better audio options over hdmi

Sounds fishy, unless of coarse they are gonna have the card released soon, or you got some l33t contacts in the industry

Although those specs sound reasonable, although i would have hoped for a 480SP config, at those clock speeds.

Well it's one of the benefits of living closer to ATI HQ :P

anyway, I picked up 5850 from this guy, which also was an unreleased card using a different HSF(much cooler and quieter then reference)

Wow, put it in your main pc and do a few benchmarks. Or even better do a few benchmarks on your HTPC with the 4770 and then the 5670.

400SP? That's less the the 640 the 4770 has!?

Unless if there is a new way of counting SP already?

The 4670 has 320, just for reference.

Looking forward to the pictures of this 5650 you speak of.
Very interested in seeing the HSF of that 5850 if possible as well.

Post full review since you aren't under NDA, then eBay it for profit to a review site!

I returned the 5850 and got a 5970 instead, it too has a slightly different cooler, though I do have an OK pic of the 5850, the cooler looks more like the 4890, but solid copper for the actual gpu heatsink

Thanks for the pics!
That 5850 cooler must've been a stock part from a 4890 before the 5850 production coolers were available.

I'm sure I speak for everyone interested when I say. We need benches for the 5670 now!

Hmm, no more EyeFinity...

Also, looking at complexity of components, looks like it's 50, maybe 55 watts max. Yum!

Which one is it? They are clearly different (one has 2x? 6 pin plugs).
