^^ Agreed. Didn't want to be the first thread-crapper though.

Antec Twelve Hundred can be had at Newegg for $160 w/FS.

After the 15% on the Antec site, it's 207.65 shipped, provided they don't charge sales tax.

Nine Hundred Two is $119.94 shipped from newegg, 159 and change from Antec.

Sorry Antec, but it had to be expected, posting such deals on this forum?

Antec can't sell their stuff at retailers prices because just like Steam can't sell games cheaper than retail usually, if they do they would get penalized.

Not true... Antec makes the product, they can give it away if they want, but others wouldn't resell Antec for zero profit. A huge percentage of Steam sales are 3rd party games, so they sell games at the prices negotiated with the game publishers.

I remember getting a 500 dollar class action check from ati because they sold me 2 video cards direct... So your post is entirely untrue.

Not to mention charging full shipping is a total deal killer for almost anything.

Do you understand how fundamental economics and market procedures work!?!?

If anything, it would be the opposite. Seeing as Antec provides both manufacturing and sales DIRECTLY, it cuts out the middle man (3rd Party retailer such as Newegg) and thus would be profiting everything DIRECTLY. If anything, they would more than likely be making more money in this fashion.

But as many others have suggested, this won't be done by selling products higher than the 3rd Parties that sell identical items at a cheaper price, both for the actual product and shipping rates.

fundamental economics and market procedures

1. Antec sells the bulk of their products at 3rd party retail stores
2. Antec makes alot of money (profit)
3. Antec opens their own retail store and charges a bit more
4. Antec makes a little more money (better profit margin)
5. Antec lowers the prices @ their store to below retailers
6. Retailers balk and stop stocking Antec products
7. .........
8. Antec loses alot of money

I had the idea that Antec is not a manufacturing company; it outsources everything that I know about. For example, it's PSUs are [currently] made by seasonic.

Antec obviously wants to cut out the distribution middleman where possible, but it cannot undercut its retailers or violate any agreements. They are probably trying to dump excess inventory in any way they are able for EOY. It might be better to offer retailer rebates, but that doesn't guarantee reorders before EOY.

Exactly.

To those of you angry about shipping though, as someone who sells large and heavy items online, I'd like to respectfully tell you to shush. Boxes, packing, and labor alone add about $5 to every single item you ship. I don't know if you've never shipped anything or what the idea is, but offering something like a computer case at free shipping pretty well cuts you down about $40. It's hard to make up that kind of a hit unless you have major bulk sales action, which places like newegg have and places like name-brand storefronts usually do not.

The 15% barely grazes the extra $25 you have to pay for shipping for most cases they have in stock.

Sorry, Antec.
