Windows 3.11 on Vista! [warning: images]

I've got Windows 3.11 running full-speed on Vista 32-bit! I used DOSBox to install from this guide:

Cool stuff. You can do it with VirtualPC 2007 and other VM software as well. And yeah, memories... lots of 'em, mostly good but some absolute nightmares too hiding around in the gray matter.

Yep, gotta love DOSBox. I prefer VPC 2007 myself for WFWG3.11.

If you want a NE2000 adapter though in DOSBox, check out HAL9000's mega build.

How the hell is anyone supposed to know that's a virtualized OS?

Good jorb cybereality.

Now if you want to impress me, run the same installation of Windows 3.11 in "High Color" mode. If you want to REALLY impress me, run Windows 2.1 (yes, two point one)/386 in "High Color".

It's no fun unless you're running Win 3.1 emulated in another OS which is running in a virtual machine.

Tough audience. You see people brag but don't produce results of their own. Go away threadcrappers.

To the OP, awesome! Brings back lots of memories. I've been meaning to do something like this sometimes just for the hell of it.

Agreed, very cool indeed... Windows 3.1 was released before I was born =)
Threadcrappers get out, it is cool regardless.
