DXDiag for Vista-SP1, doesn't show 10.1

;) *giggles*... you need DX10.1 capable hardware..... *giggles*

cmon please.. you both have 7+ years here....

Check System32 (and SysWOW64 if you have the x64 version) for these two files:

1/18/2008 11:34 PM 159,744 d3d10_1.dll
1/18/2008 11:34 PM 208,896 d3d10_1core.dll

Yeah? You have DX10.1. Now just wait a long time for anything useful to support the hardware. :p

I have these two files in my SysWOW64 folder.. but i'm not running DX10.1

I don't have the hardware :D

Hardware has nothing to do with what version is installed.

Bringing membership time into an argument... that's about as lame as the kids who brought post count into discussions. Kyle eliminated that stat from the side of posts for a reason... Another member with a poor attitude for my ignore list ;)

Thanks!

Hrmmm... uhh I don't think that'll ever be an issue, .1 is such a minor incremental stepping. Just a small discrepancy I noticed and was curious about.

Hardware has nothing to do with what version is installed. But thank you for making example of how noob you are ;)

la la la attitude? la la la... i giggle and that's attitude??? what and that whole rant isn't?

why would dxdiag show that you're running a version of DirectX that you are not capable of running?? DirectX 10 wont install on a DirectX 9 capable video card... just quickly explain why you think that DirectX would report version 10.1 when your hardware is not 10.1

Yes, it will. I don't have a DX10 card but I certainly have DX10 installed. And dxdiag reports DX10 as well.

Not really.

Time = experience
Posts = bordem

An egg, suck it.

wow you sure act like an ass especially for someone that doesnt even know what they are talking about. the version of DX that shows up DXdiag has nothing to do with what hardware you actually have. the DX version that shows up is software. :rolleyes:

Nonsense, you can install Vista on a computer with integrated graphics with no problem at all...and DXDIAG will report DX10 installed

Maybe they're leaving the numbering scheme at 10 until there are significant changes to the code. Wasn't DX10.1 supposed to be a very small upgrade?

I am not saying that I expected to say 10.1, that it will say DX10, that that I show that as well.

Correct. Small change. That's why I said in my opening post it was not a concern, just a curiosity at the discrepancy when everything I read said 10.1 came with SP1.
