Seagate announces 1TB drive also

Not to be outdone by Hitachi, Seagate jumps into the paper-launch-a-1TB-drive game.

Seagate points out their drive will use 4 platters instead of Hitachi's 5.
Now that Hitachi has announced their price, Seagate will have to match it I'm sure.
