Mitsubishi Diamondcrysta RDT261WH
I just found some details of a new Mitsubishi monitor here, which looks very similar to the specification to the NEC LCD2690WUXI.
25.5" 1920x1200 IPS panel (although listed as an 'H-IPS' as opposed to an 'A-TW-IPS') HDCP 178° viewing angle 2xDVI, D-Sub Responce times are close (15ms / 7.5ms g2g as opposed to 12ms / 6ms g2g) but not quite the same but then they always seems to change a little depending where you read them anyway. Is this Mitsubishi trying to re-live the good old days of 'NEC/Mitsubishi' monitors? I heard that the company (joint venture) was wholly owned by NEC now.

yeah i just saw that too. a little dissapointing that it doenst have any hdmi, cause a 25.5" monitor would be reallll nice... either way though it still looks pretty promising, and not too bad of a price at 1300

I want that monitor if it proves good for graphics work (I'm finally dropping my NEC FP912 and FW900 monitors), too bad the stand seems so...boring.

On paper it looks like these two screen will perform similarly, I wonder what the slight difference in specs will ultimately mean. Also I'm curious if they will make good HD movie player's, the extra inch and half of screen realestate could be good for 1080P content.

This is at the top of my list, I live in Japan so I can easily buy it, it's relatively cheap at just below 130,000 yen at kakaku.com. (around 1300 usd?)
It's has one of the highest ratings, and it's classified into the upper middle ranks of all the monitors reviewed at this site: http://miyahan.com/me/report/compute...eview_RDT261WH

At a slightly larger size than 24" (25.5) and an IPS panel, it's looking pretty tempting.
There are two versions, white and black. I think the black version looks really cool with the thin silver strip at the bottom with the blue light. Some juicy pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

looks like japan only, hope it has less lag than the 26" NEC as its lacking alot of the electronics.

The last picture is the answer... just didn't notice it.... PS3 is at 16:9 so yes there's 1:1...

Ok great, that's that then.
I've been reading up on it and this is what I've learnt: http://miyahan.com/me/report/compute.../RDT261WH.html 1) There are different modes like gaming and desktop modes. In all other modes except desktop mode, there is banding. 2) Something with to do with the red color, but it seems oversaturated or unnaturally strong. 3) Brightness, like the FP241W at the lowest mode is still too bright (around 100-110 cd/m2) but it can be reduced to 80cd/m2 according to user reports. Anyway probably not much interest in this monitor, as it's not available anywhere else.
