Hey guys, I'm putting together a new build but am unsure of my RAM choice. What memory should I get for an i7-4790K and Asus Z97 Pro (wifi) combination? The price difference going from 1600 MHz CL9 to 2400 MHz CL10 is only about 20%. I won't be doing any overclocking.

How about the price difference from the cheapest 1600MHz to 1866?
1866 is the sweet spot for Haswell LGA1150s. But that said, I wouldn't pay much more for any RAM above 1600/1866MHz unless you have money to burn.
I got my 16GB 1866s for a hair above 110$ converted price. Otherwise I would have gotten the cheapest 1600s I could find.

Technically, any chip faster than 1333 mhz CAS 9 is an overclocked chip. And technically, running faster than 1600 mhz is overclocking the IMC on the CPU.
I would get the cheapest RAM that you can find that's 1600 mhz CAS 9 or faster.
