I cant seem to find a straight answer to this question
I don't think the quality for any of it is as good as DVD, even for the HD streams, but it's not bad. The standard definition streams are definitely less then DVD quality and I try to avoid watching anything that is SD. Too blocky/grainy looking, especially the dark colors and low lighting.

Check it out here.

You can't tell if a stream is HD or not on the website from what I've been able to tell, but once you're looking at something in your queue from the netflix interface on your PC, you'll see HD listed if it is a HD stream. Check out Legend of the Seeker season 1 for a show I know is in HD and shows it.

If you used internet connection sharing off a computer that was proxied somewhere it might work. I know I use Hulu and Netflix off a VPN connection, but that only works on the computer that's using it.
