2 I don't care about as much as others, one I care about a great deal. 1. Put better track pads on hp machines. I am getting really sick of the constant b*tching about how horrible the trackpads are on this hp machine and that hp machine, enough already. It need not be best in class, but it does need to be solid enough to shut this argument down cold, please. I am not coming from a mac track pad, so I do not compare pads to "utopia" like so many other nit pickers do. A mouse to my mind is superior to any trackpad, I just need the pad to serve well enough, but others want better performance, so give it to them to end that complaint. 2. Give an option for a backlit keyboard. It's a nice to have for me, but for some people, apparently it is a near deal breaker for the entire machine. So give that to them. 3. The one I care about most. Panel quality. I am not a panel dictator, I do not demand 180 degree viewing angles like some nit pickers, the machine is for my viewing, directly in front of it, not the world. However, I do want the option for a nicer panel. People stare at their screens every time they use their notebooks. It seems to me to be reasonable to want a panel that produces more accurate colors, and is bright and generally outstanding. I have seen laptop screens (from several vendors) where the colors looked so washed out you could barely tell there was color at all. They have a beautiful 13" panel already on the envy 13, the rgb led backlit display, the thing breaks 400 nits in brightness, which for a notebook screen is INSANE !!! That panel as an option for the dm3 would be fantastic, and the screen would be superior to ANY current mbp screen on the market as far as I know. Some issues for HP would probably be scalability, I think they are such a large company that supply issues may be a constraint for certain additions, they also might want to keep the manufacturing cost down, on top of preserve margins by cutting some corners on the panels used and the like. To this I say simply build in the extra cost of providing these extras by how much they charge for adding them. Problem solved. They probably do not want to cut into the envy 13 territory with the better panel, but the envy is priced above what many can afford, giving the option to the dm3 would make it a more direct competitor to the 13" mbp, and with the fixes I suggested, best it in most of the areas save "being in the club." Dell 13z?
![]() The thing that sold me it was the express charger, 80% battery in 60 mins, and the fact that the 4cell it ships with gives 5hrs 9mins of juice according to Dell. A pretty precise number instead of just "6hrs+" then only getting 5 like some other netbooks!
