Ok. Just picked up the monitor today and gave it a quick run through. The 1:1 update works pretty well. I hooked up my PS3 to it and it handles everything nicely at the proper aspect. There are actually two new features with the new Firmware. DDC/CI and Display Mode.
The Display mode option gives you the selections of: Full, Aspect and 1:1.
I have noticed a problem when using the PS3 to playback regular DvD's, in which in aspect mode you get bars on the side and the images are stretched vertically. I dunno if this is a short coming of the PS3 or the monitor aspect ratio software, I'll have to look into this more because I only tried the one dvd matrix revolutions.
Other then that Blu-ray movies now display correctly and games as well at 1080P display with no stretching. As well as resistance and other 720P games look great as well with no problems with stretching or tearing in aspect and 1:1 mode. So all in all it works great, look forward to using this monitor for years to come now. Again please excuse my horrible camera, it does not do this monitor justice.
Here it is!
Here are some Pics using a cool little test pattern from tiger dave:

I know these pics are really dark and you can't see the black bars on the monitor, but my camera can not pick it up. It's just not good enough, or I just don't have good lighting. Eithier or they are there, the 1:1 actually has bars on all four sides slightly where as aspect mode is on the top and bottom only. Hope that helps
