If a CPU has a TDP rating of, say, 91 watts, would a cooler that's rated for 170 watts be better than one that's rated for 140 watts, or does it matter? Is there a ratio of CPU TDP vs Cooler TDP for maximum heat dissipation?

CoreTemp 0.99.5 tells me that cores 0 and 2 are running a few degrees hotter than cores 1 and 3. Is this normal? Temps are pretty mild. Ambiant is around 21.5c, and CoreTemp says my cores are at 27, 23, 27, and 24c at idle (all stock, no OCing).

With the way it's designed, I kinda worry that applying too much pressure could damage the board, since the "pressure vault" thing is just a big metal pin that pushes down on the HS to increase pressure on the CPU (and by default, the socket).

I notice that my CPU (i7 860) will idle at around 35c while in BIOS, but will cool down quickly to the mid 20s once I get to the Windows 7 desktop, with no change in cpu fan speed. Why is that?
