Rainmeter is more of a platform. You build skins as .ini files, define your meters, define your measures and your done. There are very simple skins and others that are pretty elaborate. I see no reason why you couldn't have some type of charting. Biggest issue is that there isn't any way to...
For the record, I do work at Microsoft and have worked there under all three CEOs. And while I do believe that giving Satya all the credit is going overboard, he has made a big change in the direction of the company that is felt at all levels. Build 2014 is a great example. That was not...
Couple of things.
1. Everyone seems to have missed this in the article "Credit for these decisions should not accrue solely to Nadella. Former CEO and media punching bag Steve Ballmer set much of this in motion before he left."
2. These changes probably wouldn't have happened if...
If there was actual tax evasion or fraud you might have a point, but it's not. It's money for goods/services that were sold overseas. If MSFT brought the money back into the US they would have a tax liability but not bringing the money into the US is not evasion or fraud.
Contrast this to...
Full disclosure, I work at Microsoft. I don't get what the issue is. I can buy a 1 year subscription for $100 and install it on up to 5 different machines for my use. That doesn't really seem overpriced.
That makes no sense to me. Their upset because he didn't continue to throw good money after bad? There is no way, outside of writing off the original loans, that 38 Studios was going to dig out of this hole.
Little confused why you're pissed at the Governor. He opposed giving the loans to 38 Studios in the first place and is hardly responsible for the company going under.
Correction, I was thinking about http://www.microsoftgamesinsider.com/ which is actually still up. Microsoftinsider.com was registered to do something similar with other content but never matured.
Microsoft did not register microsoftinsider.com to protect their brand. microsoftinsider.com was a website that Microsoft ran featuring insider content on some of it's games. I know they hosted the sites for AC2, Rise of Nations, Train Simulator and a few others I don't remember.
Really, a "me too" to Google? O365 is just the latest version of Office Online. The current version, which has been running for several years, is BPOS (Business Productivity Online Suite). I realize that Microsoft bashing is fun and all but Microsoft is hardly playing follow the leader here...
Thanks all for the advice. In the end I decided to go with the 6950. Here's the full order I placed with NewEgg last night.
Case: Cooler Master HAF X
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K
Fan/Heatsink: Corsair CWCH60
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) (I got two...
I appreciate the comments. Let's assume, that gaming will be confined to one monitor while the other screen will have up a webpage or email client. Let's also assume that while I'm not uncomfortable with minor overclocking, stability in the end is much more important. I also do some...
I'm building out a new Sandy Bridget Computer with a 2600K, 16GB of memory and a SSD for my main drive. It will be hooked up to two 1920x1200 monitors.
My original plan was to get a GTX 560 Ti like the MSI Twin Frozr for $250 but I was worried about it only having 1GB of memory. Then I...
My computer is about 8 feet from my house's furnance on one side and a big fan about 8 feet on the other. This would save me from having to constantly have my speakers playing at a very high volume.
I think the bigger issue that came out at trial was that even after they knew there was a problem they told their support personal to say that there were no known issues and to treat it like a freak occurrence.
Coverage on The Register had some great details:
One incident alleges Nicholas and others smoked so much marijuana during a flight on his private plane between Orange County and Las Vegas that the pilot had to put on an oxygen mask.
Yeah Mohonri, searching NewEgg was tough. Spent about 5 hours hitting the specs on the individual case pages. I found a few by Athenatech that look like they would work but not to excited about the cases themselves. AtechFabrication makes a couple but they start at $400 and go up fast from...
Pick me.
1. I'm in the market for another 24" monitor
2. I have my own calibartion equipment (hardware and software) so I can make a very informed review.
Met my wife on the interent in January of 1993 but didn't meet her in person until August of that year. We married in August of 1996 and are getting ready to celebrate our 12th aniversary in a few months.
I have the Onkyo TX-SR605 and love it. You can find it for under $400. They also just released the TX-SR606 which has 4 HDMI inputs instead of the 2 on the 605. The 606 also handles conversion of 1080i content better. I don't think the 606 is in stock yet but Amazon has it for pre-order for...
I've got the Samsung LNT5265F at Fry's for $1800 around the holidays and love it. My friend picked up a 50" Kuro around the same time. Yeah the Kuro had better blacks but unless you've got it in a dedicated home theater room I think it's overkill. For everday use the Samsung is great and cost...
I haven't hacked the Tivo standalone units but I've upgraded several Gen 2 DirecTivo units. I've used Western Digital Caviar SE in both 160GB and 320GB flavors without any issues.
I've actually been looking at doing something very similar. Instead of the 420 I was looking at the 430 or 440. Have to love those inexpensive 35w procs. For video I was thinking about using a GeForce 8600GTS to take the strain off the CPU.
Not so much for launching apps, though I'd like that feature. More for browsing photos, playing music (off local network or streaming from net). Basically a media center without the TV functions. Media Portal might work if I can strip out the TV functions easily enough.
Need some advice here. I finally upgraded my CRT TV to and 1080p 52 LCD. Ive currently got a PS3 and Hughes SD-DVR40 DirecTivo hooked up to it.
The PS3 I use almost exclusively as a BlueRay/DVD player. The DirecTivo has been hacked to run Tivo 6.2 software. Ive got some spare PCs and...
I feel for what the guy is trying to do but blaming your problems on the "evil" corporations just doesn't cut it.
1. Thailand cancels order after military coup, not exactly a Wintel issue
2. He even admitted in another article that in the beginning he didn't realize that just because a...
I agree with some points but disagree with other. Yeah it's ugly and overpriced but I disagree that ebooks don't offer any benefits.
I took a two week vacation to Bonaire earlier this year. Instead of hauling a bunch of books with me all I had to take was my ebook reader.
The thing that...
