I'm disappointed. It's a pretty standard generational increase in performance, the mid range encroaching on high end territory. The Price is the same as launch last generation though. It just seems like a steal as they're launching after the Nvidia high end. It's all marketing, just like the...
There's talk from most people that they'll briefly go back to the $400 price tag after christmas, which is generally a slow time anyway, and then announce a permanent price reduction at E3. We'll see. I think they'll just keep the price reduction from the get go, and forego a periodic raise in...
And what's the proportion of Self Made Billionaires of all College Drop Outs? Probably extremely low. Genius level people, motivated innovators and the just plain lucky will get by no matter what. Unfortunately, no matter what, they are a very small portion of the population and their life...
I'm into it.
I disagree with people who think this isn't classic Blizzard. This is exactly what Blizzard is and does.
Art Style:
Warcraft 3 was the start of this sort of art style. The last game with "dark/adult" style art was Diablo 2, 14 years ago. Warcraft 3 came out and everything...
Hahaha. PwC is headquartered in London. Not San Jose. The specific group taking part in the survey may have been from San Jose, but they are not a San Jose based company.
It's Destiny press week, and the articles of first hand impressions from a play test earlier in the month are coming out. More info is sure to follow this week from Bungie themselves, as well.
Here's a good resource for all you can read information...
RNG is RNG. You can try to build Magic Find gear and whatnot, but drops will still be subject to their random drop system. Actually, pretty much all you can do is try to build Magic Find, run higher tier Torments (or run lower as fast as you can, for more drops) and run it with 4 people...
Saw that this morning. Definitely shady by DICE. Thinking back to playing yesterday, I can identify a half dozen times when that death shield likely came into play. I'm trying to get the Phantom Prospect assignment done, so playing a lot of hallway maps, and there was more than a handful of...
That screenshot is actually pretty sweet. The one thing I don't like about the PS2 engine though, is the draw distances feel tiny. It could be because you see so much, it feels tiny, but it's actually huge. Though, all I remember from PS2 is seeing very little detail in the distance, and when...
I really enjoyed that video. After struggling with trying to not buy into iRacing over the past two years, I've finally succumbed. It's simply the best and most reliably accurate sim out there right now. Assetto Corsa has some real potential, but it's incompleteness leaves you wanting...
I have to say, I am absolutely disgusted by what seems to be a large faction of the fans over on the H1Z1 subreddit. In the thread created by smedley asking for input on how to monetize the game, I would say at least 60% of the people commenting are asking for straight up Pay 2 Win scenarios...
Quite the patch notes! Again, I'm very impressed with Respawn.
-edit-
To the guy above me, you're insane. Those notes list a shit ton of tweaks and fixes for the PC.
Private Match (beta) - This is the first public test of our new Private Match mode. This gives you a way to organize...
It's free to play, so they'd only be paying if they want to. And SOE isn't known for bad games. They might have had their issues, but from Everquest 1 through Next, to Star Wars Galaxies, to Planetside 1 and 2; there's a ton of people who love their games.
I've held off on the Zombie spam for a long time. Even avoiding DayZ through all of its iterations. I've almost bit on State of Decay, and I still might, but so far this one seems like it's the most promising. I'm excited and keeping a close eye on this. I really hope the F2P doesn't ruin it.

To me it looks like an expansion that was instead decided to be released as a stand alone. Not interested.
Well, this one isn't Gearbox. It's 2K Australia developing it. So, 2K would get your money but Gearbox isn't a part of this one. Well, I guess they're saying Gearbox is "co-developing" it. But I don't think they really have anything to do with the development outside of passing their code over.
I'll be steering clear of this one by a wide margin. Loved BL2, but I really get the feeling Gearbox mostly lucked out with it (wasn't that big of a fan of BL1) and so I have low hopes that the same studio would be able to strike lightning twice, let alone a new studio taking over.
Totally. As far as budgets go, they really have little to no bearing on the quality of the game. Most big budget games have at least an equal amount dedicated to marketing as they have to actual development. I think in most of those cases the marketing budget is actually much much larger than...
Battle(non)sense has the videos that explain much of what is wrong with the game.
Here's a video showing the real effects of the "Netcode" issues.
Here's an update to that video.
Here's a video discussing an FOV "wallhack."
Here's a video showing how client side object physics can ruin the...
I realise this was a joke, but that being said, I wanted to clear up my last post in case there is mis-understanding.
My words were perhaps not quite well chosen. I didn't mean everything about the drops is RNG. I know we have a re-built loot 2.0 system in place. I get drops appropriate...
It's true.
That being said I started playing again with a buddy to complete the Phantom assignments while goofing off and not taking it too seriously. It's been really enjoyable in that state of mind. When I get frustrated about not getting a kill or something I'll do something like take a...
It's RNG is RNG is RNG for me.
I'll go 2-3 hours without a drop. Then in the next 2-3 hours I'll get 5 legendaries. The legendaries are also random and do not pertain to where I need an upgrade the most. I've gotten a staff, sword and wand in sequence before. There's been no pattern.
While I'd agree that it's opposed to what the idea of Battlefield is, I actually find Battlefield more chaotic than Titanfall. BF4 is just such a mess.
What I like about Titanfall is that ( while shooting is still necessary and a primary aspect ) the most important thing in the game when it...
I was browsing equipment and came across the Firebird's Finery Set. I want it.
Link to shoulders
These two procs would be so fun:
(4) Set:
When you die, a meteor falls from the sky and revives you. This effect has a 300 second cooldown.
(6) Set:
Enemies killed by Fire damage explode and set...
Here's what my ideal desk would have:
- Large flat surface of 6'x3' (or deeper)
- Sturdy mounting system on the rear of the desk to attach monitor arm to (this would be the support for multi-monitor, etc.)
- Height Adjustable for sitting or standing applications
- A roll off edge on the user...
I "discovered" a build I consider to be really fun and satisfying with my DH last night, after some tinkering.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#acTOlS!Tfei!YbZZYc
It may not be the best build or whatever, but it was a lot of fun.
Was able to level super quick yesterday in one bounty run and a rift. Still only 38, but it's super quick for me. Really enjoying the Wizard. Went back to the DH to farm some jewels and was disappointed with him haha.
I'm really enjoying this expansion. Super satisfied.
Haven't been to H in a while. Just wanted to drop in to say I'm really enjoying the expansion so far. Haven't put too much time in, just got my DH to 70. I'm excited to dive into Adventure mode and all that. Thinking I'll level a crusader at some point and bring my wizard to 70. Not sure if...
Completely and utterly enjoying this game. Fantastic job by Respawn.
I will pre-order this if a good deal comes around. Otherwise I'll wait for a deal after.
Can't wait to play it in March. : D
