Hi Gea, I didn't run a specific command, I used the OI version of Task manager (forget what it's called- system something or something).
it quite clearly shows that only 360mb-ish of ram is used but Napp-it is showing almost complete memory useage - i will try the other commands tonight to...
I'm not sure where I should post this to be honest but I've loaded up a fresh copy of OI with GUI and then installed Napp-it which is all ok and works as expected, if i open the task manager to view ram / cpu and network usage and then run the internal benchmarks through the napp-it interface...
Your not the only person to get baffling r5 speeds with WD Red's.
I bought 6 for use with an intel card (can't remember the model) but I get about 14Mb/s write and 70Mb/s read but a mirror is fine at over 100MB/s for read and write

so i've upgraded to the latest solaris 11.1 with napp-it v. 0.9a5 nightly Jan.22.2013 and i'm trying to run a benchmark but for some reason the bonnie one will not run, i have disabled the monitoring at the top as is required but when i click start the screen refreshes and nothing happens?

So i've managed to login using an older version of napp-it that was listed in the boot menu but when i try to run the wget, I now get;
"solaris express 11 is supported upto napp-it 0.8 - use napp-it 0.8!! or update to Solaris 11.1"

yeah, same thing unfortunatly. if i look at the boot on the actual machine it says something about the same service running twice.
I do have a pre-0.6 option listed in the boot menu so ill try that
