I ordered the 840 evo from Amazon on Dec 01 and got the drive a couple days later. Never got the FC4 game code so I called them yesterday and they finally emailed it to me.
So, it took a little time and some bugging but I got the SSD and the game for $99 so it was a hot deal in the end.
I ordered one about an hour ago and it still showed the FC4 deal but no mention of FC4 on the invoice or email confirmation.
I guess I'll see if I get it or not. I will bug Amazon if I don't get the code though.
Probably a loose wire you got tight when you installed the other P/S.
I'm a big fan of PC Power & Cooling P/S's but there is no way extra watts to your CPU or your videocard made a lick of difference that would be addressed in going from one overkill P/S to another. You probably never exceed...
I'm happy with the new Windows 8 Pro. It's Windows 7 with improvements basically.
I would say if you are on any Windows O/S before Win 7 then get Win 8, if you have 7, it's a coin toss unless you are an IT professional and then you are forced to try all versions, lol.
I have Win 7 on my...
Yeah, I got in on this deal. It's core is clocked at 993Mhz versus 954 for the one in the op's post.
Mild upgrade over my old GTX275 with the main bonus being DX11, etc.
Thanks for the tip! I have an A70 and a new mouse on it's way for $9 and change after the $20 rebate. I figured out how to get the second code to work. :)
I needed a new mouse for my laptop and I've never been real wild about my "Tuniq Tower 120" plus I need a good cooler for a spare box so...
Well, I just ordered 4 gigs of Mushkin RAM for my laptop for $24.99(after $10 rebate) with my first code.
Tried to order something with the second code and it wouldn't take. Oh well, I shouldn't be greedy. :p
I don't suppose you can stack these as I have 2 of them!:p Actually had a third but it expired last month.
Hmm, $25 off is still pretty sweet! Now I have to decide what to buy... I really need a new case and suddenly Lian-Li's seem reasonably priced. :D
I've been eyeballing the Samsung P2770FH and it seems like a pretty sweet upgrade to my 22" Acer.
Played with one a bit at the local Sam's today and I think I am gonna pull the trigger. Color was beautiful and the text was the crispest out of several nice monitors in a row.
$300 seems...
I'm looking for real live experiences and not info gleaned from Cnet. I guess I am just going to have to buy one and try it for myself.
Oh well, how bad can a Samsung with a 3 year guarantee be? LOL:p
I wish others would weigh in on this thread.
I am seriously considering the P2770FH for my needs. I game and watch movies mostly so I want the high refresh speed, it claims 1ms which is as good as it gets, and I want quality and I have yet to be disappointed with a Samsung monitor.
My...
You are a silly person. Who else but a silly person could imagine that black plastic parts could yellow? :p But I'm sure that they won't get brittle, being black and all. ;)
And your vast experience with "PLENTY" of Lian Li Aluminum full towers turns out to be a post where some guys have...
I disagree with pretty much everything you have posted. Especially that bit about "cheaper full-tower Lian Li cases tend to rattle" as you are the first person I have ever heard make this claim about the A70F or any other Lian Li full tower for that matter.
Aluminum has several advantages...
I'm getting a Lian Li A70F after running my old steel full tower for over 12 years..
I want the ability to hold 10 3.5" drives before I start stealing space from the 5.25" bay area. (I will probably just store most of them in the case and hook them up as needed)
The A70F looks very...
I never understood why they recycled the same name for a significantly different chip but upon further research I now know but still don't completely understand other than it must be a marketing decision.
The original E6300 was a "Core 2 Duo" E6300(65nm, 2.13GHz, 1066FSB) and the later one a...
I don't care if you let the AS cure for a year.. with that stock heatsink it will never run much cooler than you have it now. You will never see 20's or low 30's unless you move your rig outside into the snow. :p
Even a really cheap aftermarket Heatsink/Fan will make a huge diff. I had good...
After further play with my Q9450, I would not recommend upgrading from a Q6600 especially given it's use.
Although my new Q9450 is lots of fun, and brings my system less out of the dark ages, it's really not that much of an upgrade over my old golden E6400 at the same speeds. As sweet as it...
I'm definitely biased as I just moved from an E6400 to a Q9450 and I am digging it, a lot.
And the Q9x50's are disappearing.. the place I just bought my new OEM Q9450 is out of stock already and I don't expect them to carry them again.
Don't count on stuff getting cheap before it...
I debated on whether I should say "the right Indian" over "the right foreigner". :p
But it's true, if you get the right tech and they understand that you know way more than they ever will they can be very nice to deal with.:)
I find the key is being friendly yet authoritative on what is...
I don't get what's he's saying either.
My old E6400 was just tits and is up there with the best cpu's I've ever owned. I don't know why anyone could dislike an E7300 unless it was a bad chip.
Might be the mobo. Or, of course, the cpu.
But since you are about to upgrade and make this Q9550 the heart of a secondary machine I wouldn't worry about it. :)
I used to be a big fan of Arctic Silver 3 back in the day, then MX-2, and now I use IC Diamond. It's super thick and hard to apply right but it's 90%+ pure powdered diamond material which has an insane thermal transfer ability. I'm using this for the foreseeable future until something better...
I have a laptop with Win7 premium 64-bit and I would like to transfer this operating system to my main system which is currently XP Pro 32-bit. I'm wondering if I can do this.
I bought 2 copies of operating systems and I just want to use them on different machines than they are currently...
You should look up and see if this Q9300 for $99.99 works with your motherboard. It would smoke your old cpu and give you another year or two with your system. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0328258
Just a thought. And those chips at newegg you posted...
The E7500 sounds like overclocking fun but I would've like to have seen the diff between the old Q6600 and the $99 Q9300 at Microcenter. Supposedly the Q9XXX series is faster than the Q6XXX series by around 11% on most games and apps.
I would've gotten the Q9300 myself but I ordered a Q9450...
I recently upgraded from an E6400(3.4GHz, stock volts) to a Q9450 and it made sense for me as I do a lot of video and encoding work. It's a definite improvement and saves me a lot of time.
I needed another Intel cpu anyway for another machine so it's a win-win.
Listen to this guy.
You custom build a computer for a family member and every time they load it up with spyware or figure a way to break it then it's your responsibility to fix it. And they WILL figure out a way to make it run like a dog when they click on all those popups!:D Then your...
