    DC Vault 2

Hi guys. Is there a link to show currently reserved work in Prime Sierpinski? I thought there was, but I can't find it. I've had a couple boxen crash as it gets warmer, and they've been on autopilot for so long I forgot what they were running. Anyway, I'll probably wrap up PRP and switch...

Sorry for the very late response. There is a Muon1 program you can run directly, available...

I see that we're now #5 in the DC Vault. Great job guys!

    DC Vault 2

I'd like to do something like this, but I currently just look at the Vault stats similar to Dr P. You're right that the missing element is how easy/hard it is to move up in a project. The reason we dropped Wieferich for a while is that it takes forever to advance, so usually the CPU time is...

I'll work on a new priority list. I think GIMPS has dropped further, thanks to all the GPU crunching. Anything below 9K in the Vault will still be in the top 10 probably. I'm running Climate Prediction and Yoyo on my SR-2. There are a couple others helping out in Climate Prediction. I...

    X79 SR-2-Two Teaser

My other concern is the stability of the board. SR-2s are known to require some TLC and lots of BIOS fiddling to get a decent overclock. For example, I just noticed my SR-2 is not seeing one DIMM. If I could replace the SR-2 with a rock-solid board, I'd definitely upgrade.

    X79 SR-2-Two Teaser

I would love to upgrade to this monster. I'm not too worried about the mobo price, but what are the processors expected to cost (non-Extra Spicy)?

GIMPS has a Linux x64 client but it looks like GPU is the way to go now. OGR-27 (distributed.net) has a variety of Linux clients. SoB and Yoyo are also good choices. I know Muon1 and Wieferich are Windows-only. I've been having trouble getting Docking work - BOINC seems to only be...

Heh that translated DPC thread was amusing. Looks like I'm finally starting to see some points in PSP again. I've been studying for the MCITP exam all week so I scaled back some crunching to keep the fans quieter in my office while I cram. I need to reintegrate a SmartUPS back into my setup...

    DC Vault 2

I restarted both PSP machines yesterday when I installed Windows updates. It says I have 36 tests assigned and that's how many threads are running. When I shut them down yesterday they all seemed to be crunching, so maybe they were idle before but recently got work. I'll let it run another...

Congrats, everyone! Razor (or anyone), is something up with PSP? The stats aren't updating on Free-DC, but my local clients still seem to be crunching. I noticed I've been pulling double-check work recently, so I'm wondering if the servers are moving or if I need to update the IPs. I've...

    New build in progress

I have the same case and same mobo. :D No WC, just three fans in the top to help exhaust the heat. Looks like it will be a good build.

I think the idea behind the W@H point system is to have constant point output over time. For example, if the average PC five years ago was a Core 2 Duo, it would do 500 PPD (to pick a number). Today the average PC is a quad-core Sandy Bridge, but it still does 500 PPD. This means the guys...

    DC Vault 2

W@H has been stable for me over the last couple months, so it's not that bad. The weirdness is that the "multicore" client just runs a copy of the graphical client for each core, and sometimes the clients can behave oddly, so I avoid touching them after startup. The other weird/silly thing...
