Art can you share any details about what NEC does to ensure better uniformity of the EA series displays compared to more inexpensive competitor monitors? I don't see anything on the website but I'm hoping that either tolerances are tighter or some uniformity compensation is done. We all know the...
Does this monitor have a uniformity compensation feature? I saw the review on the wide gamut version of this and it reduced brightness and color variation significantly. Has anyone tried it? The contrast ratio is reduced to 650 but it looks like brightness controls still work which is much...
If your only issue with the Asus is PWM then get the BenQ. The Eizo has some advantages like no glow but it's not worth twice the price since you didn't mention glow as an issue.
Did you have both the BL2710PT and the AOC side by side when comparing glow? I spent a week or two comparing both monitors when they went on sale for $499. The AOC had a stronger white glow on the bottom left side, but the BenQ had a stronger glow on the bottom right side. This is with viewing...
You can easily see it on the AOC in a complete dark room and displaying a black background. There will be white glow on the bottom left and this shows up on both AOCs I have.
If you have the lights on it's difficult to see even on a black background. I don't think I would pay $250 - $300...
I contacted Amazon on Saturday about the issue just in case and got a replacement monitor today. The new one has the same behavior so I think it's probably caused by my video card or something.
The new one has very little/no BLB either and no dead pixels. There's one pixel on the top left...
So far I've been testing the monitor using display port only which seems to work fine. I connected it using dual link DVI today and I'm seeing some strange behavior and I'm not sure if it's a defective DVI port.
When I first boot up the computer into windows and load windows it will display...
I also do programming and I usually have 2 windows with lighter backgrounds side by side. Uniformity is fine on mine from the left edge to about 80% of the way to the right side. The last 20% looks off on the right side and I think it's a combination of both color and brightness uniformity...
Has anyone tried both this and the BenQ BL2710? I ordered one from Amazon since it was on sale. Both the AOC and BenQ don't have BLB or pixel issues. The BenQ's proximity sensor and ambient light sensor are useless so those don't come into play.
Are there any big advantages of one over the other?
As mentioned in the article they are aiming for half the price of the PQ321 so it should be under $2000. That sounds pretty realistic since the PQ321 street price is already ~$2,400. Maybe they'll switch over to a non PWM backlight.
Yeah I got it and have been using it for a couple of days now. No dead/stuck pixels or dust issues. I didn't see any backlight bleeding but to be fair I didn't see any from the 3 Dell U2713HM samples I tried either. Maybe the name brand manufacturers are getting a handle on this. The color...
etooey mentioned in another thread that he purchased from Amazon.
I just ordered one to see how it is. Hopefully I'll have better luck compared to the Dells I've tried recently. Price came out to $600 after taxes. Refurbished U2713HMs are ~$450 after taxes and if you have issues with it you'll...
