on my motherboard to put it on :-/
I have an 80gb Maxtor for Windows and Programs, and then i have a 160gb that i use for all my downloads and movies and all that other good stuff.
i bought the seagate to have more space, but how should i connect it to my mobo when i used both the ide ports for the hard drives?
I have the Asus A7N8X-D mobo btw

Toss out the 80, or buy a extra IDE controller.
disconnect your cd roms> install new drive in cd-roms place>copy the data to a drive(or use ghost)> disconnect the smaller drive> place newer large drive in its place> hook cd-rom back up>install windows on larger drive (skip if ghosted)> chuck other drive , install seconed new hardrive,
if you only have 1 cdrom and 2 current hds, you can put a hd on the secondary channel to transfer data without disconnecting a cd-rom
keep your old drives in a anti static bag, you can always swap one in incase of failure and reduce your down time

i tried this
i have 2 optical drives though, 8x dvd burner and 52x cd burner. when i took out the cd burner, the pc tried to boot from the new hd i put in and i dunno how to get it to boot from the 80gb drive.

set the 80 to master, make sure the new is set to slave...
also check bios, to select primary boot drive.

i'd rather have the 80 cloned to the 160 and the 160 to the 300
i think i'd have to buy a usb enclosure to do that though. what can i use to clone the drives though?
