For my first build, I'm debating between a WD or Maxtor 16mb drive. I dont know how much of a difference 3.0 gb/s makes over reg SATA, but is it harder to install on a A8N-SLI Premium?

I grabbed a 300GB 16MB Maxtor drive (haven't ratcheted up the Gig-O-Meter to reflect it yet :D) when Fry's/Outpost had them on sale for $90. My WD2500KS has made me extremely sensitive to storage performance, and although the Maxtor drive comes close, my KS feels a little snappier. This is borne out by SR's testing.

The Maxtor drive will cost a little less (you can get the same 250GB w/ a five year warranty for about $5 less than the WD2500KS w/ a three year warranty on ZZF) but I'll take the performance and gamble that mechanical drives will be obsolete when the warranty on my WD2500KS expires :D
