Here is something interesting I came across - a small IDE flash drive by Transcend. I wonder how well it really performs. Imagine craming Windows on it and using it as a boot drive. That would be awsome!

Performance probably isn't all that great. However, I'm still looking into getting one of these (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822998002) and a CF card for a /boot volume for around $30.

I use the 512mb modules in my OpenBSD firewalls. Not extremely fast, but they serve the purpose.
I'm considering using a 256mb modules for my /boot partition when I rebuild my Linux storage server next year.
