ok, I've googled around for a couple hours and not found the answer.
I have a PC running Windows Server 2003. Running PXE, RIS, DHCP servers. All has worked fine getting pc's up and running booting from PXE, then using RIS to blast a ghost image to the client PC. However, today I'm working on some more, and I get the message (short version here)..."Could Not generate a unique name for this computer". Lower in the error screen, it says that "The error may also indicate that the computer naming policy used to create a unique computer name has reached the maximum number of combinations".
So....anyone here know how to clear what's been generated? Or increase the potential number of combinations? Where's this policy at anyway? I've been digging around and have yet to find it (although, come to think of it...I could swear I saw it when I was setting up the RIS service.... ).
thanks in advance
