With my new dual core opteron i'm idling at 29c and on load i get around 53c. This is a huge increase in temp from idle to load so i decided i need a new heatsink. It seems like the bt is the way to go, but it's really heavy and i move my computer around a lot for lan's. How much of a difference is there in cooling between a si-120 with a panaflo (is http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa12hisp.html good?) and a bt. Thanks for any help and feel free to suggest another option.

I like the SI-120 because of the light weight.

that's what i was leaning towards but i wasn't sure how much cooling i would lose by going that route.

k, the concensus at several other forums was that the bt was the only way to go.

It's heavier, and debatable as to whether or not it will cool better (even if it does, the difference won't get you a higher overclock or longer life for your chip). I'd go with the 120/Pana for lightness and similar cooling ability.

One thing to consider: If you plan on removing the heatspreader the "tt bt" will be much easier to mount.
