What would be the differences between XP Pro or XP Home as far as gaming goes? Retail XP Pro better than XP OEM? I just want to play sims.

For gaming they are all bout the same, if properly tweaked. ;)

Yes as far as gaming is concerned there would be no difference, xp pro is just used more for a networking environment.

You will not notice any real difference.. But I recomend home ver.. You can usually pick it up much cheaper and the vast majority of people who have pro, don't use the extra functionality in any way.. I dare say that for most, running pro, is an e-penis thing..
Home works fine for dual core and ht also.. Also there is no difference, functionality wise between the retail and OEM versions.. The difference between them is the license. See sticky here.. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=885079

I like pro 'cause the blue vs. green bars in the loading screen just look better :p

Except you don't have to do as much "tweaking" with Home.

If it ain't patched/updated, it's vulnerable. That's security 101.

It is broken, hence the need for SP2. Common sense.
As far as gaming, some will say NTFS offers better performance, but I doubt it would tranlaste into anything measurable for gaming.
