Troublesome desktop issue HELP!

I have a buddy who has somehow managed to make the folder options (Folder tasks other places and details) stuck on his desktop across the left side. I am unable to reproduce the error and am no help and it's driving him crazy. Anyone every heard of this one? I've got a pic but cannot load it here since I can find no browse button.

Well, that's a little strange. You might to right-click the Task bar, then go to toolbars and see if there is anything there that shouldn't be.

OK. Try going to Doug Knox's (http://www.dougknox.com), click WinXP fixes on left side, click on Remove Common Tasks from Desktop, follow instructions.

It looks like you aren't the first to run into this but tell us if it works.
