Hibernation mode?

Hibernation or sleep mode, what ever you prefer.

I'm just wondering if my anime downloads will continue if I put the system to hibernation mode? I tried experimenting, but I really can't get a straight answer if my downloads are continuing or have stopped.

They wont continue in either.

Hibernation is like suspend, but in hibernation the memory is backed up to the HDD and the computer completly shuts off, just like it was off. But when you press the power button, it will restore its self and have programs exactly as you left them.

In hibernation mode the computer is essentially off so no... your downloads will not continue. In stand-by mode they should, but I am not sure about that one.

ok, well in that case there's no excuse for me not to switch over to linux :)
