I have heard too many conflicting reports. I would like to know what the "best" or Optimal Striping size for a performance raid array would be.

I have always used 16k, for whatever reason. However when i select to create a raid array with my Intel Bios, it tells me for optimal perfoamce raid 0, choose 128k?

Their has got to be a guide to this somewhere. anyone have any thoughts? thanks

The Array i will be setting up will be Dual 74GB Raptors, on an ICH7R and it will be a boot drive with XP 32 Bit

Thanks

if you want maximum performance for loading games, you'd be better off with a single 36GB MAU

Fujitsu MAU $170
LSI U160 card $50
SCSI cable $25

TOTAL $255, which is probably less than you paid for your Raptors
of course you lose 75% of your space, but I'd bet you're not using that RAID0 array for storage anyway
