i have a hitachi 250gb that was in my xbox for quite a while. now i am trying to put it in my main rig, as i am in desperate need of cash.

the comp will not boot when the drive is connected to any of the IDE interfaces, it will not boot when i have it in my external enclosure via usb 2.0. the comp will only boot if i have it connected via 1394.

so it loads the proper drivers and windows reports they are working correctly, (windows doesnt know the difference between its asshole or elbow, if it had any that is.. heh) anyway.. disk managment will not see the drive.

i dunno whats goin on. i have never seen anything like this. any help would be great.

Dont you need to lock the drive after you put it into your xbox then unlock it as you use it for something else?

You know that set of numbers in the eeprom and all that fun stuff that lock the drive so you cant extract the data from the xbox's hard drive and stuff like that.

i take it there is no way to unlock the drive w/o the mod chip... right?
