Help with some SCSI stuff

Hey I need help setting an SCSI as slave to another SCSI drive using a Compaq Professional Workstation AP400 (a bit old but still works). Well I need help setting the ID for the SCSI to be slave Ive tryed Ctrl+C, BIOS..Everything could just use the help of al lyou masters though hehe

SCSI dont do slave / master - they have jumpers to set an ID like

7 (7 is almost always the SCSI controller)


can go up higher pending on your controller - so look for jumpers on the drive to set the ID to something other then the first.

Ok so basicly I just have to set a jumper in the right spot for it to read it as a "slave" I guessI would call it

Meh, kinda. There's no such thing as slave/master with SCSI. Like the man said, it's IDs you're worried about. But yes, set a jumper in the right spot.

Make sure that both drives do not have the same ID. Also make sure that neither drive has the same ID as the controller card. Then you should be set as far as that goes.

No there is a jumper block that has 0-7 Scsi ID's, set the jumper for anything between 0-6, where as the 7th or 8th scsi id is for the controller.

There is quite a few other jumper blocks on the drive, that can be set to control the speed of the drive, wether it is hot-swapable or not and etc.

In the Scsi chain, first drive is Scsi id 0, second Scsi id 1 and so on, there is not Master or slave setting. All drives in the chain are set as master.
