getting computer off domain.

I have xp pro and was recently added my computer to my schools domain. I was wondering how i take it off the domain now! :confused:

Make sure you know the local admin account password....then go into My Computer, and set it to Workgroup...instead of domain. It will reboot. You'll need the local admin account password so you can login and create and local accounts you might need.

Out of curiosity, why was it added to the school's domain? Is that part of the policy for your campus network? My school doesn't have a domain setup for student computers, so that's why I'm a little puzzled.

Its optional. I found a tutorial about how to get it on the domain on my schools website last night, but found that theres not much use of it so now i want it off.
