I use hotkeycontrol xp to use my keyboard keys "play/pause" and "favorites" to turn the volume up and down. But I was hoping there is a way to modify the windows registry or w/e to get those buttons to do the same without the need of a 3rd party software.

thanks for any help.

I have never ever installed any software from Logitech and almost always get full 100% recognition from every key on the keyboard. What hardware are you using?

the buttons work for their 'made for' function without software, but i would like to change it for controlling volume.

Doing it without 3rd party software will be really difficult.. I don't know of any way to do it.. A keyboard re-mapper could do it I suppose, but that is 3rd party software.. A driver that has been altered to do what you ask is also possible, but again is 3rd party software...
