Considering ECS's recent upswing in quality, I'd say this is a pretty good deal.

WTF happened to the green packaging!!! Oh well. cpu seems fine. Will test soon.

I also bought a Hawking Hi Gain 6dB Antenna for $14.24. Normally its 29.99. And all the returned versions are 28.xx. Well this returned one said 14.24. So I jumped on it. It's working great. Full signal now on my HTPC when before it used to get a weak signal
On top of that. The antenna has a 10 Dollar mail in rebate! So 6dB Hawking Omni Directional Antenna that made a huge difference = 4.24+tax.


Now I gotta sell this mobo. Prob ebay it.

little update

Chip works fine but i was forced to reinstall windows.

It worked after I plugged it in. booted to windows, Windows detected the new chip and installed a driver. I rebooted then after that I could not boot into windows again. Safe mode didnt work, it would load 10 files then reboot to bios, last known, normal would do the exact same. The boot screen wouldnt even show. Sure I coulduve gone into Recovery console and possibly figured out what was causing it. But I took a chance to see how fast windows would install.

I reinstalled windows from "Press any button to boot from cd" to login in under 17 minutes. I did a Quick format on C:

It might have been the funky way I configure my m achine.

See Drive 1 has these partitions
8GB- C: - System -
8GB- Blank partition for Future OS's/betas
280+GB - D: - User/Program Files

Now I move my Desktop, My Documents, Program Files, To D:\ Meaning I can wipe out C: and only lose a minimal number of things. It might not have liked that.

I reinstalled windows 5 days prior when i swapped in my WD 320's
I just got windows to the point that I wanted and BOOM, have to reinstall again :)

In any case all is well. Only wish it was a bigger Leap, certainly wasent the OMG *piss pants* speed I wanted. But it's alot better. Who knows. I might end up selling it to a client and getting a 4400+ :)

problem is it's the same clock speed. So single threaded things act exactly the same as before(sorta)

In any case it's still a nice improvement. But some ppl exaggerate on it. Hell most review sites are going on how "You'll never see a slow down in windows!"

Oh well. Good news is. I might go 4200+ for free
