I posted this over in General Mayhem and wasn't getting any replies and then got pointed to here so here goes...
I just built a new system the other day and I'm having trouble getting windows to boot. I've got a MSI K8N Neo4 motherboard, an AMD 64, and a SATA hard drive. For some reason when I try and install Windows XP (from CD) and the SATA drivers (from floppy) everything seems to work properly until it says 'setup is starting windows' at which point it reboots and sits at 'verifying DMI pool data.' I can't figure out what's going on. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure everything is plugged in correctly and seated properly. Then I'd check the memory out using Memtest.

It's not the memory, I replaced what I had in there with some of my roommates. He and i also took it apart and put it back together to double check all the connections.

You've got some hardware or BIOS configuration error then....because it's not even getting to the OS yet. How about testing the HDD out?

Best as we can tell it has something to do with the SATA drivers... not sure what to do about though.

Try different versions, and double check you're using the right ones.
*Gently taps my Intel 865 board....thank god for built in driver support*

I had a similar issue on a MSI board before. Switch the setting for USB leagcy device. (Disable it).
This would only be it IF you are using a USB mouse or USB keyboard.

Disabling the USB didn't do it. Gonna try different drivers here soon.
UPDATE: I got the RAID drivers from MSI's site and nothing changed. It still reboots after saying 'setup is starting windows.'
Re-UPDATE: This is crazy.... turns out it was a bad DVD drive. Whatever. Thanks for the suggestions and help anyway.
