Desktop, Installers, And Folders in 98

In Windows 98, when ever I try to move a installer from my desktop to a folder (My Docs.), it just creates a shortcut, the installer doesnt move. Is there a way to remove the Installer from the desktop with out deleteing or making it hidden?

Cut, then paste. (By installer, I'm assuming you mean an executable file?)
