just got stacker...need help

does anyone know what the green and white wire that is attached to the back of the case? the manual doesnt say wat it is. it says "int" on it.

also how much power does the 120 fans use? i think my psu is dying since my previous overclock doesnt work anymore at 2.2 ghz (2500 barton) upon switching cases today. my old case had 6 led fans and the overclock still ran. my problem is when windows starts or loads the pc just shutsdown. i thought i was shorting the board, but it is running fine now that it is on stock speeds :confused: is it the 120fans? my psu is a thermaltake 420, i was leaning on a tagan u22/blue storm/ or the neo power...any suggestion is appreciated :)

Okay, First you need to discribe this wire better.
Are you taking about a wire coming from the front control panel?

Second give us your system specs

third the stock fans are CM quite fans and they don't pull alot of watts at all.

k, the restarting issue has been solved, poorly seated heatsink...and this is the wire

int= case intrusion alarm?

Yup. That is the intrusion detection wire. If you choose to connect it, it'll only connect one way, and your motherboard has to support the feature. If your board does support it, there'll be a jumper on 2 of the 3 pins already.

Don't forget to enable the option in the BIOS.

im not familiar with it, how does it work? does it have sumthin to do with the case being opened?

Yup. You pop the door off, and it trips a sensor on the motherboard. Even if it is powered down, it'll alert you when you boot up.

ok, now im confused. I just bought a new stacker about 1 week ago. The one that supports both btx and atx. Anyways... My case dosent have this so called wire. If it optional? or am i just blind?

uhh.. so add one in... its just a micro switch with a roller on one end, you can get em at rat shak for a few $ all you have to do is attach it where the door will come in contact with it when closed to make the circuit , attach it with a littel piece of alu for sheet metal or even plexi... take ya all of 15 min to install

besides.. you mother board has to support intrusion detection other wise its pointless
