You might want to just load it on another hard drive/partition on your computer becuase not all 32-bit programs are supported buy it. It is good so far but all i've loaded on it is 64-bit farcry and it does look better and runs alot better. But it was a bitch to find drivers for my parts because you need 64-bit drivers. So my advice would be not to install it over your windows that you have. Later on it would probably be better.

If you use wireless network cards, so far (at least that I know of) the only support for any sort of wireless adapters are for Broadcom based cards. I found this out the hard way....but luckily I had a broadcom based wireless card (Linksys WMP54G).
video card and sound card drivers weren't an issue for me, neither were chipset.
games like BF2 run about the same, not much of a noticeable difference.
don't upgrade what you have though...do like the other poster said, install on a different partition as it's not really truely ready for mainstream use yet.

you can't upgrade your current OS to XP64, you'll have to do a fresh install, so it's better to install it on a new partition.
I've been using XP64 for a couple of months and I like it. Its as fast and stable as XP, you'll have to get avast antivirus since its the only one that works with xp64, 16 bit installers won't work (there's work around) and some games won't work because of copy protection, (work around using no-cd).
There are other threads that discuss this, do a search.

I just did it, and it works great!
The only thing was though that I had to download all my drivers. Namely the nForce drivers had to be redownloaded, no biggie though.
When I was trying to download something off MSDN, the 64bit version of IE wouldn't work with that particulat ActiveX control. However MS includes a 32bit version of it too.
Boot up is about 5 seconds faster. I haven't installed anything that will really take advantage of its 64bit goodness. I'm pretty happy with it ATM. No real problems whatsoever.
