Had some fun last night...tried OCing my new Venice...tried different settings...already having problems because my stupid A8V Deluxe won't run my DDR400 memory above 100MHz. Anyway, trying to overclock appeared to kill not only my Windows installation (hal.dll could not be found) but it killed the 5 GB partition on my 40GB storage drive. Fortunately, there was no data on it, so no loss.

However, now the partition shows up as RAW, and takes up no space. Essentially, it's a dead empty partition serving no purpose. How can I un-partition the two partitions on my storage drive back into one main one?

Zero fill the disk and start fresh, merging partitions is not a good idea..i think its been discussed in this forum before.

Well, that's essentially what I want to do...I've already cleared the other partition and I want to format, but I don't know how to delete the old partitions and create a new one in XP.

Start\Run\diskmgmt.msc will get you started. You will see a layout of all of the physical disks in the system, and can manipulate partitions at will (well, except for the boot and system volumes)
