Sup guys..

so I got home today and found my computer's hard drive clicking (it worked fine the night before). I restart the comp and it goes to a BSOD a second after the windows (xp) loading screen comes up. (sometimes takes shorter or longer to go to the BSOC)

.... I have heard the clicking before yet it never messed the comp up before (it would happen sometimes when I would touch the case or move it.. could the hard drive possibly be shorting out? I seriously doubt that though..)

anyways, the only thing I can think of that is wrong is that the hard drive crashed.. but there was no disturbence at all when I was away from it.

I've tried to (none worked): replace the CMOS battery, reset CMOS/BIOS, start in safe mode (same thing as normal startup)...

I really need help fixing this, thanks!

dead hdd. if you can rma then do that if not you can try placing it a freezer inside a plastic bag for 10 minutes I hear that works for some people.

Check for video card failure. Some cards will work fine in black and white mode through the BIOS screens, then die when the splash screen starts loading colors.

And replace the drive, too.

Power supply? How many amps on +12? What brand is it? What all else in the system has a yellow wire going to it?

zam - how can I check for video card failure if I can't start it up?

the powersupply i think has actually been giving me some other troubles, but it seems to be working fine. I can't remember how many watts or was.. or anything about it since the old case of it is taken off and replaced with a modded windowed one.
