I recently purchased a cheap raid card so i could set up my two SATA-150 drives in a raid 0 configuration. This is the card i purchased Clicky (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16815124020). Now I have downloaded the drivers from the card makers site, from the chipmakers site (Silicon Image), updated the bios on the card. However when I try and install windows on my two hd's that are in a raid 0 configuration it goes through all the normail stuff i hit f6 and load the drivers partition the drive and copy files to the hd's. This is where things start going bad when it reboots i get a message that windows was unable to read from the hard drives. I have tried every thing i can think of but im stumped. Any help would be great. I know the card is cheap but i was trying to save my self a bit of money so that i could upgrade the rest of my system as soon as possible.

not sure if this will be much of a help but I just recently went through my first raid-0 install. I do not have a floppy drive (hate 'em) so I had to slipstream the drivers onto my windows install disc but it sounds as if you had no problem getting the drivers in there. However I did have to setup the raid array before I even started installing windows. This was a utility that came up by hitting some Fkey during POST. This basically made it so it looked as the two drives as one and then once the drivers were installed during windows install windows setup finally saw the one 140 gig drive instead of the two seperate 74 gig drives. Basically see if there is any type of setup you can get to during POST.

Ya i did all that made the raid array ect. right now im thinking something is not liking the card that i bought. I currently looking for a better setup on newegg (new mobo with raid, processor, and powersupply) I think this will solve my problem.

i had a problem with my raptor raid and talon card, my audigy 2 and talon controller were fighting over irq's....moved the slots around and its all good now, they play nice

Still no luck........ Im going to just end up buying a new mother board with raid support built in. Any suggestions for a good mobo (intel support, lga 775 socket) that has good raid support?

sorry to hear that.

personally i use a pacific digital talon controller card, designed for use with the 74gb raptors and it works great, after i sorted out that irq conflict

I have decided to rebuild my system it is time for an overhaul. Im going to go with a mobo with raid support built in, hopefully that will solve this little problem. Thanks for the suggestions.
