Computer Slower After Reformat?!?!?

I just reformatted my computer, and installed windows fresh, expecting it to become much faster and smoother.

However, when i did this and finally got all my drivers installed, the computer seems greatly slower, and some programs no longer even work.

I have a feeling that this is normal, and does anyone know why?

Why did you reformat in the first place? also, what windows do you have, and what kind of system? did you get the correct drivers?

You might have an OEM computer, which people like HP, Compaq and such make their own programs to run with windows to make it seem and actualy work faster/better for certin apps.......if so youll see a diffrence in preformence
list your rigs specs too

I'm assuming your installed your mobo/chipset drivers as well... correct?

If you're missing those, and you have a newer chipset not in the Windows HCL.. things can be rather sloowwwww.

yeah.. specs would be nice.. what OS? anyways - make sure you have UDMA enabled..

That's a very likely culprit, but god forbid anyone post enough information to get an answer. I was thinking that was just a problem in the OS Forum....sadly, it's not.

Well.. once in a while those who want to help others out with their PC problems and such are given all the information they need and more. But ya, most times we're lucky to get any system specs at all, or even exactly what the error was... :rolleyes:
