Hey all,

I just got an Areca ARC-1210. It seems to be working fine, but it always beeps out some codes at boot. I suspect it's because there's no arrays configured, no battery backup, etc. However, I have no proof. The manual doesn't say, an internet search turns up nothing, and I'm waiting on a response from Areca. Any [H]ardites have an Areca card that can share some info with me?

Thanks,
BoB

I have the ARC1120 card and it will let out a beep or 2 whenever I reboot my server. I was unable to find anything on it as well.

Info back from tech support:

The beep or beeps the card emits while the system boots up means the controller detected a PCI bus reset. One beep means one reset, 2 beeps means controller received bus reset signal twice. The number of beeps will depend on how many times the motherboard issues the reset signal. There are no beep codes related to errors, all errors are listed in the events list.
